Collector Car Resume for Christopher M. Bavis:

Collector car appraisals started in 1972 with the purchase and total restoration of Early Ford V-8’s.  I now own and operate Collectorcarinterests.com LLC performing multiple types of appraisals for estate, insurance, divorce and financial institutions.

Club Affiliations to include the:

Early Ford V-8 Club of America, past Vice president local chapter, current member and division judge.

AACA (Antique Automobile Club of America) current member.

Mid Century Ford Club of America, past president local chapter.

Golden Gears of Frederick Maryland, active member.

Advisors to enthusiasts in the purchase of collector vehicles at national auction events.

Employment History:

1966-1978 employed by Bethesda Ford. Started as a porter and was the service department dispatcher/ shop foreman when I departed that company to work in the restoration industry. Purchase and sold 400 plus collector vehicles to sell at the Hershey and Carlisle swap meets. 

1978-1979 employed by the Adler & Mandel Auto Upholstery Company in Rockville Maryland as an interior trimmer restoring collector cars.

1979-1983 employed by the Precision BMW, Fiat, Subaru Auto dealership in Frederick Maryland as their Parts and Service Manager, later as a minority owner.

1983-1985 employed by the Fox Chevrolet Auto Dealership in Baltimore Maryland as their Service Director. (supervised 100+ service employees).

1986-1993 employed by Robert B Suddeth at his Parts and Service Director for his Chevrolet Dealership in Hagerstown Maryland. 

1993-2018 employed by the NADA (National Auto Dealers Association) in their Dealer Academy as a Fixed Operations Instructor. Responsible for curriculum development and instruction in the dealerships parts, service and body shop operations. Further responsibilities included 15 years of running the Academy Regional Auction Training Program, A USA and Canadian experience.

2016 & 2017 Attended the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction in Scottsdale as a vehicle consultant.

2018 Attended the Mecum Collector Car Auction as a client-vehicle consultant for a successful sale of a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner.

Since 2005 I have operated Collectorcarinterests.com appraisal business and have appraised over 500 vehicles

Successfully assisted a client as an expert witness in a trial in Carlisle Pennsylvania.

Graduate of the American Society of Certified Auto Appraisers Course 2007.
